Test results

Getting your test results

Please check on your NHS account or Systmonline below for all requests by your GP.  You can do this:

  • in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • in your SystmOnline account
  • phone us on 01274 223118 from 10:30am.
  • If you have consented to receiving SMS messages, then the clinicians may also send you the result and additional information to your phone.

Questions about your results

If you want to talk to someone about your results, please book an appointment to speak to one of our clinicians or put in a patchs request.

Blood tests:

We should have received the results of your blood test within 3 to 7 working days. We do not routinely contact patients with the results of blood tests. We will phone patients with any urgent abnormal test results.

Make sure that your contact details are up to date so that we can get in touch with you if necessary.

xray

Xrays and Scans:

We should have received the results of your scan within 2 to 3 weeks. Please check with reception that we have safely received the scan results and then arrange to speak to, or to see, your GP.

Specimen/stool samples

We should have received the results of your stool sample within 1 week. 

Confidentiality and data protection

The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if your are advised to do so.
