Patient participation group
Non-urgent advice: The aims of the patient participation group
We have gathered enthusiastic patient representatives. These include young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from diverse ethnic groups.
We are still taking on new recruits, if you are interested please get in touch.
The aim of the group is to work together
- To offer opinions in a constructive manner and to put forward ideas on behalf of other patients.
- To improve the provision of health care.
- To improve communication between surgery, patients and the wider community about matters concerning the surgery and health in general.
- To provide assistance in development of new services.
- To encourage a spirit of self help and support amongst patients to improve their health and social care.

Non-urgent advice: Feedback response

| It would be great to see Doctors working schedules on the website for daily availability | The Doctors working days are now on our practice website for each day alongside their gender, and you can find their photographs under this. |
| I book online but the appointments just go within minutes. | We have significantly increased the number of online appointments which get released at 8am, across the full day every day with all clinicians. Let us know if you still have any problems. |
| I am concerned vulnerable people who dont have online access have zero chance of getting a same day appointment | About half of all Doctors appointments are not available to book online. These appointments can only be booked over the phone. This ensures people who don't have onlien access can still book appointments. |
| When you phone at 8am, im always number 10-20 in the queue. So I hang up and dont try anymore. |
Don't give up! You can either book online - This cuts out ringing us at 8am. Or don't hang up and stay in the queue. There are roughly between 90-100 Doctors appointments available per day, ringing before 9:30am you more than likely will be able to get an appointment on the day. You can also try the queue buster call back function on our phone system. Your number stays in the queue, but you can hang up. When your number gets to the top of the queue the phone system will ring you back. |
